TRIAL CLASSES: You may try a class for $15.00. There are no free trial classes; however a parent may observe a class at no charge. An appointment can be made with the instructor.
CLASS SCHEDULES: The schedule is based on anticipated enrollment and may change at any time. Please call prior to attending class for the first time for verification. Class schedules are available on the web site and at the office. Teachers are also subject to change on occasion.
ATTENDANCE: Dance is a discipline unto its own and requires regular attendance. Be on time for class as attendance is taken. Come dressed in the correct attire. A student who is more than 10 minutes late will not be allowed to take the class because they will have missed the warm up session, which is important to prevent injury. If a parent is late picking you up, do not leave the building. Wait in the lobby until your ride arrives. Danswest is not responsible for students who leave the premises for any reason. Parents please deliver and pick up the students on time- remember- we like to go home too!!
MAKE-UP LESSONS/MISSED CLASSES: Please call if your child must miss a class. Your instructor will be happy to give you a make-up time. This make-up class must be taken within three (3) weeks after the missed class. There are no carry-overs, refunds or pro-rated fees due to missed classes due to illness or other attendance problems. A class, which is cancelled by the studio, will be rescheduled. A doctor’s release is required for an injured dancer to return to class. This applies to a non-dance related injury as well. The studio reserves the right to drop a dancer from a class or routine for excessive tardiness or absenteeism. Excessive is missing 3 or more classes prior to a performance, recital or competition.
PICKING UP/DROPPING OFF STUDENTS: For safety reasons, we ask that students not leave the building to wait outside for pick up. Danswest is not responsible for students who leave the premises for any reason. Parents, please deliver and pick up students on time. We cannot watch your child if they arrive too early or left after hours. If you are going to be late picking up, please contact the studio.
CLASS OBSERVATION: Parents are allowed in the classroom on their very first day of classes. Thereafter, parents will be allowed during specific observation times set up by the director as dancers learn best in an environment free from distrations. Much of the time, the doors will be open so that you may view the class in progess. If you are inside the classroom to observe, cell phones must be silenced and you must remain in the room. Non-dance siblings unable to sit and watch for the duration of the class, should not attend observation classes. Fall Observation week October 4-9 and December 6-11.
PRE-SCHOOL REQUIREMENTS: We accept students at age 2-1/2 if they are toilet trained and can count to four. Parents must use their own discretion when it comes to participation and social skills with other children. Working with your child at home on how to take direction from teachers and standard class decorum is helpful.
