About Danswest
DANSWEST has been teaching high quality dance education in Tucson for over 40 years. It’s founder Frank Trent got his start in vaudeville with his parents at age 4, appearing with them in variety shows, road shows, fairs, and theaters. He started his solo performance career at the age of 13 and danced professionally until 1976, when he retired to Tucson to open a dance studio. Frank and his family continued to turn out talented dancers up until his retirement in 2001. One of those dancers was then 17 year old Megan Maltos.
Today, Megan Maltos, and mother Jill, continue the dance traditions that Frank started so many years ago. Classical Tap, Jazz, Ballet, and Modern dance technique is taught in addition to the more stylized forms of contemporary Tap, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Pop Jazz, and Contemporary Jazz. We take pride in our innovative choreography and dare to be different than the rest. Our goal is to provide a nurturing environment where students can learn and grow uninhibited, to find a love of art and movement through dance, and to boost self-confidence and the courage to be the person they want to be.

We strive to help each dancer achieve their own personal dance goals and personal growth in a nurturing environment.
